The U.S. Probation Office for the District of Columbia works to provide comprehensive mental health and substance abuse services. Our goal is to provide the Court with services it can order as conditions of supervision to help individuals to live lawfully and productively in the community. Our services include:
Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment - consists of group and individual counseling to address minor to moderate substance abuse issues.
Residential Substance Abuse Treatment - consists of 3 to 7 days detoxification and 90 to 270 days residential treatment to treat chronic substance abusers.
Drug & Alcohol testing - services to determine and/or deter drug use in the supervision population. Testing includes laboratory test with GC/MS confirmation, instant test cups, sweat patches and breath alcohol levels.
Psychotherapy - Services may include assessments, individual psychotherapy and/or group counseling. Life skills and family therapy may also be provided.
